Weight Loss Basics

     

We find a lot of obese people around due to changes in lifestyle and lack of physical work as more people are blue collar  professionals  who seldom walk or do strenuous  physical activity.  Obese people are the most prone  to diseases such as coronary heart failures, high blood pressure and diabetes. 

Being obese not only alters the appearance of a person, but the whole quality of life, he or she tends to lose self-esteem by becoming more self-conscious,  it increases the health risks, it creates depression and the physical activity is limited.  Before starting a diet regime, it is better to consult a doctor.  Before enrolling for a diet or weight loss regime one should first be clear of the fact as of why they need to lose weight?

To reduce weight one has to change the way they eat, food they eat, and their physical activity. Instead of setting high goals which not achievable it is better to set achievable goals.  It is good to choose the foods you  like rather than the foods you do not like.

After devising a plan one needs to make up the mind to follow that particular regime till a specified period and stick to it to in order to achieve the goal of losing weight.  If  it doesn’t work  then should be prepared to try new methods.   There is no point going on with a plan that doesn’t work.  Alternate ways to be found to cope with the eating binge.
It is found that a person goes on an eating binge due to stress and emotional period.  So one needs to find ways to cope up with stress to cope up with over eating.

An obese person should be aware of the dangers of being overweight says susceptible to diseases. One has to accept things which cannot be changed such as hereditary problems, nature of job, physical inability to exercise etc and accordingly make changes.  They should also know what their ideal weight should be for their height and BMR (base metabolic rate).

Diet plans which assure weight loss overnight might be very harmful.  Fad diets doesn’t help in the long run and you end up gaining more weight after sometime, even though you lose some weight in the beginning. Avoid fatty foods and use of diet pills.

Instead of avoiding totally, one can decrease the amount of food which contributes to adding weight.  Weight loss does happen magically, through methodical and periodical approach only one can achieve their goals.

Best results are achieved when a good diet plan is combined with good exercise regime.
